Hero Medallions produces fully custom, raised-relief 3D medallions manufactured specifically to your approved design. Each medallion is cast in Antique Bronze, Shiny Gold Color, Chrome Color, or Pewter, enhanced with baked-on enamel where appropriate, and sealed under a heavy-duty protective clear coat engineered for long-term durability.
Design Information & Customer Instructions:
Please be specific when describing your design. Use the notes section of the Custom Order form to provide the wording, symbols, colors, layout, background, people, objects, and other details that are important to the design. The information and reference materials submitted with the Custom Order establish the original concept from which our art department will work.
If clarification is required, Hero Medallions may contact you by email or phone before or during artwork development.
Images & Reference Materials:
The quality of customer-supplied images and reference materials directly affects our ability to accurately and efficiently develop custom artwork. Customers should submit the clearest, largest, highest-resolution original images reasonably available. Whenever possible, original digital images or artwork should be submitted rather than screenshots, photocopies, scans of printed photographs, or photographs taken of other photographs.
When a physical object such as a badge, emblem, coin, pin, plaque, award, or other item is being recreated or used as reference material, customers should provide multiple clear, close-up photographs in good lighting, including a straight-on view and photographs from additional angles sufficient to show lettering, details, shape, texture, and relief.
Poor, blurry, very small, incomplete, or low-resolution reference materials may delay artwork development and production while Hero Medallions requests clarification or additional materials. If better reference material does not exist, customers should submit the best material available together with as much written information as possible. Hero Medallions will make a reasonable effort to determine what can be created from the materials provided but cannot guarantee that details not reasonably visible or identifiable in the submitted materials can be accurately reproduced.
Payment & Commencement of Work:
Upon receipt of cleared payment, the information and reference materials submitted with the Custom Order are forwarded to our art department for mockup creation. Payment authorizes Hero Medallions to begin artwork development, engineering review, and project preparation.
All Custom Orders must be paid in full before artwork, engineering, tooling, mold creation, or production begins unless otherwise expressly agreed to in writing by Hero Medallions. Production Timeline:
Production timelines begin after final written eSignature approval. Due to tooling, mold creation, casting, finishing requirements, design complexity, and mint production schedules, estimated production periods are:
• 2″–4″ medallions: approximately 12–16 weeks
• 6″–8″ medallions: approximately 3–6 months
• 12″ and larger: may require 10+ months
These are estimated production periods and are not guaranteed completion or delivery dates. Actual production time may vary depending upon design complexity, tooling requirements, manufacturing conditions, current mint production load, and other circumstances affecting production.
After final written eSignature approval is received, please allow up to one additional week for the approved order to be released into production.
Your Custom Order Includes:
• Three (3) finished medallions for standard round 2″, 3″, and 4″ Custom Orders
• Two (2) finished medallions for standard round 6″ Custom Orders
• One (1) finished medallion for all other sizes and custom shapes
The included quantity is part of the Custom Order and does not reduce the Custom Order price if fewer medallions are needed.
Additional matching medallions may be added to the same production run at standard inventory pricing. When available, the desired additional quantity should be selected directly from the shopping cart before checkout.
Personalized designs including, but not limited to, names, dates, badge numbers, ranks, personal logos, business identifiers, or other unique identifiers are typically produced only in the quantities ordered. Once final eSignature approval is completed, artwork, quantities, and production specifications are locked and cannot be changed.
Artwork Revisions & Final Approval:
Each paid Custom Order includes up to three (3) artwork revisions based upon the original concept submitted with the order. Additional revisions or requests that materially change the original concept may incur additional artwork fees. No additional work requiring such fees will proceed until those fees are approved and paid.
After final artwork is prepared and reviewed, you will receive an electronic approval form for your final review and eSignature. Once signed, the design is locked. No artwork, quantity, or production specification changes may be made after final eSignature approval.
Intellectual Property & Licensing:
By submitting artwork, photographs, logos, insignias, seals, emblems, trademarks, or other protected materials, you represent and warrant that you own the rights or have obtained proper authorization to reproduce such material.
Hero Medallions does not assume liability for unauthorized use of copyrighted, trademarked, licensed, or otherwise protected materials submitted by customers. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hero Medallions and its affiliates from claims arising from the unauthorized use of materials you submit.
Hero Medallions reserves the right to decline production of any submitted artwork, design, or design element that infringes upon intellectual property rights, violates licensing agreements, conflicts with legal restrictions, or otherwise cannot lawfully be reproduced.
If Hero Medallions identifies a potential copyright, trademark, licensing, or other intellectual property concern, we will contact you to discuss the available options. When reasonably possible, our art department may develop an original alternative design inspired by the requested theme, concept, or purpose without reproducing the protected material.
If submitted material cannot legally be reproduced, Hero Medallions will make a reasonable effort, when possible, to create an original alternative design that reflects the requested theme, concept, or purpose as closely as reasonably possible without reproducing protected material. Any proposed alternative design will be presented to the customer for review through our normal artwork revision and final eSignature approval process.
Because Custom Orders are non-refundable, our goal is to work with the customer toward a legally producible design whenever reasonably possible. However, Hero Medallions cannot guarantee that every requested design, logo, insignia, seal, emblem, trademark, or other protected element can be reproduced, modified, replaced, or redesigned in a manner that both satisfies the customer's request and complies with applicable intellectual property restrictions.
Original alternative artwork created by Hero Medallions remains the intellectual property of Hero Medallions unless otherwise agreed in writing. Hero Medallions retains the right to use, reproduce, modify, manufacture, or display non-personalized designs or design elements for future products, portfolio purposes, promotional use, or other lawful business purposes.
Ownership of Tooling, Molds & Production Assets:
Unless otherwise agreed in a separate written agreement signed by Hero Medallions, all molds, dies, tooling, masters, digital artwork, sculpting files, production files, manufacturing specifications, manufacturing methods, and other production assets created, commissioned, or used in connection with a Custom Order remain the exclusive property of Hero Medallions and/or its manufacturing partners.
Charges paid for custom artwork, setup, tooling, mold creation, sculpting, design development, engineering, or production preparation compensate Hero Medallions for services rendered and do not constitute the purchase of or convey ownership rights, title, license, or interest in any mold, die, tooling, master, production file, manufacturing asset, manufacturing method, or intellectual property.
Customers purchase only the finished medallions produced from such tooling. No ownership rights, title, license, or interest in any mold, die, tooling, master, production file, manufacturing specification, manufacturing method, or production asset are transferred to the customer.
Hero Medallions is under no obligation to transfer, sell, release, ship, or otherwise provide molds, dies, tooling, masters, production files, manufacturing specifications, manufacturing methods, or other production assets to any customer. Any exception must be expressly authorized in a separate written agreement executed by Hero Medallions.
Hero Medallions may retain molds, tooling, masters, and production files for future production runs, maintenance, replacement orders, or other lawful business purposes. Hero Medallions makes no representation or guarantee regarding the length of time such materials will be retained.
Protective Finish & Ongoing Care:
Custom medallions are finished with a protective clear coat comparable to a fine automobile finish. The protective coating is intended to help preserve the appearance of the medallion but does not eliminate the need for ongoing care and maintenance.
Occasional waxing and gentle polishing are recommended to help protect the coating and preserve its appearance over time. Environmental exposure, weather, cleaning methods, installation conditions, and lack of maintenance may affect the finish and appearance of the medallion.
By completing a Custom Order and submitting payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to this Custom Orders Policy, including its payment, non-refundable order, Intellectual Property & Licensing, and Ownership of Tooling, Molds & Production Assets provisions.
Due to fluctuations in copper, tin, bronze, coatings, labor, transportation, and other production costs, Custom Order pricing is subject to change without notice prior to purchase.

Custom artwork, setup, tooling, mold creation, sculpting, design development, engineering, and production preparation charges compensate Hero Medallions for services rendered and do not constitute the purchase of or transfer ownership, title, license, or interest in tooling, molds, production files, manufacturing methods, production assets, or intellectual property.
Customers purchase only the finished medallions. No ownership rights, title, license, or interest in molds, dies, tooling, masters, production files, manufacturing specifications, manufacturing methods, or production assets are transferred to the customer.
